Slot Technician Job Description and Duties:

- Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all cruise ship casino devices and machines - slot machines, currency changers, card shuffling, coin-handling and other machines as well as video arcade games and computerized gym equipment

- Except his/ her main duties of servicing and repair the Slot Technician would be present in the Casino during working hours, walking around the tables and slot machines and providing help to passengers, answering questions, explaining specifics of various casino devices

- Monitors players for improper use of machinery and possible attempts for cheating and reports to management and security if such cases occur

- Responsible for re-filling the slot machines with coins and testing electrical and coin-handling systems

- Collect bills and coins from the currency exchange machines and makes settlements with cashier cage to balance assets and cash retrieved from the machines

- Must be well groomed, keep presentable personal appearance and follow company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene

- May be required to participate in passenger and crew safety drills as well as to show directions to passengers during embarkation and to attend company meetings and training activities

Slot Technician Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or basic education equivalent is preferred, but no mandatory

• Formal training in repair of a variety of electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment

• Previous experience as a Slot Technician in a casino is preferred

• Candidates must be able to count paper money and coins currency quickly and accurately and to perform basic math functions with regard to monetary units and compute slot machine percentages

• Excellent communication skills and good command of the English language are required, knowledge of additional languages is a plus

• Previous cruise ship experience is an asset, but is not mandatory

Slot Technician Salary Range:

$2500-3000 U.S. per month, depending on tips, commission, the cruise line or concession, size and itinerary of the ship.
