Event Manager Job Description and Duties:


Cruise ship event manager

- Reports and provides feedback to the Cruise Director

- Plans, schedules and manages designated programs according to the cruise line guidelines and schedules

- Supervises and works in close cooperation with the Guest Entertainers, Guest Lecturers, Speakers and enterteinment department supplemental staff

- Orders and maintains all required supplies for the entertainment department

- Plans in advance, anticipates and fulfills all group requirements

- Administers Bingo games aboard the ship

- Ensures that all private functions have appropriate signage posted in order to avoid disturbance to the function

- Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required

- Coordinates group needs with group leaders and communicates them to other departments



Event Manager (Group Services Coordinator) Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in managing/planning and coordinating events

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal skills

  • Superior customer service, team-building, conflict resolution and communication skills

  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language

  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required

  • Coursework in hospitality management at an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred


Event Manager Salary Range:


$4000 - 4800 U.S. per month depending on the cruise line. Possibilities for promotion to Cruise Director position.
