Cruise Ship Jobs - First Purser Administration
First Purser Administration Job Description and Duties:- Participates in the embarkation process by collecting immigration documentation to determine validity of documents - Maintains current working knowledge of customs and immigration regulations and procedures - Meets port agents and customs and immigration officials at the gangway at all ports to deliver documentation - Meets the new recruits and explains the ship’s rules, regulations and onboard routines as well as briefs them on their specific duties - Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to new recruits in order to improve their current performance allowing them to gain skills and abilities for future advancement - The Administration Purser ensures proper appearance and grooming of all personnel within the department and notifies the Chief Purser of any poor performance and disciplinary action cases First Purser Administration Job Requirements:- Minimum one year Front Office managerial experience in a hotel, resort or cruise line - Experience in front office, revenue operations and crew operations preferred - Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or an international equivalent preferred - Strong management skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment - Administration skills, costs, currencies and quality awareness - Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written) - Experience in managing complaints
First Purser Administration Salary Range:$4500-5400 U.S. per month, depending on the cruise line. Possibilities for promotion to Executive Purser / Front Desk Manager position.
